Raised with deep roots in both science and spirit—thanks in part to her Nez Perce heritage—Sam blends modern ecological theory with a reverent, almost sacred, approach to her work. She’s most at home in the stillness of the woods, where the whispers of wind and the calls of owls replace the noise of the outside world. Independent, observant, and quietly stubborn, Sam prefers the company of her little paint horse, Jack, and the owl family she's tracking to the chaos of city life or shallow conversation.
